In this episode of The Healing Point Podcast, Tracey explores a woman’s experience of being allergic to the sun, alongside a long history of eczema, skin sensitivity and seasonal reactions.

What begins as a conversation about the skin opens into a deeper enquiry around sensitivity, boundaries, suppressed anger, shame and the fear of being seen. As the conversation unfolds, links begin to emerge between early childhood, being the quiet eldest child, feeling overlooked, keeping the peace, and learning to hold emotion inside.

Together, they explore the skin as a boundary between the inner and outer world, and how a physical reaction can begin to reveal the part of us that still feels embarrassed, judged or exposed.

The sun becomes a powerful metaphor in this conversation. It represents brightness, vitality, expression and the desire to be out in life. Yet for this woman, the sun also awakens an old pattern of hiding, covering up and fearing what others might see.

This episode is an invitation to listen to the body with more curiosity and compassion, and to wonder what the skin may be speaking on behalf of a part of the self that has stayed quiet for a very long time.
